Why has CDM blocked access to the water?

Postby rcabata » Sun Oct 14, 2018 10:00 am

I understand that there has been problems with all the rocks on the beach area, but why has CDM moved them to the water, there appears to be no access to the water.

unbelievable solution to the never ending rock problem.

when I look at this wall of rocks, I ask myself, what could CDM possibly be thinking.

there is never an explanation as to what the plan is.

what a waste of money stacking those rocks.

The first big storm will throw those rocks back onto the beach.

Good afternoon,

We have left a few openings to the ocean. Over the weekend sand has begun to fill in behind the rocks. Additionally, the contractor is not yet finished. He will extend the jetty and open up more access to the ocean.

Thank you.

Thanks, Bob.
Glad it is finally getting done.
May not be a cure-all because of the location, but I'm sure it will be better than what we have had the last few years.

Looking forward more than usual to our next trip to try it all out.

from week 3 weekly members meeting..........

• A Member asked about the beach and the alternatives to prevent further erosion. BC answered that the BOD received a presentation from a company called ShoreLock. This company is currently working with Divi on a six-month trial basis. They can add a certain environmentally friendly product to the sand which helps the beach restore itself. Studies have shown good results. The company also mentioned that they feel that the rocks in the ocean don’t provide any benefits and could possibly be aiding in the erosion.

Plenty of members have been saying this for several years...........The rocks do not provide any benefits to our beach.

I agree the rocks provide no benefit and should be removed!
